The company has completed an audit and risk assessment of plant and equipment. Remedial actions have been undertaken and contingency plans put in place. All software and hardware currently provided or supported by Building & Property will function, in accordance with the original specification, in the year 2000 and beyond. This will be in accordance with the British Standards Institute's definition of year 2000 conformity requirements, DISC PD2000-1. Older versions of software and hardware that have been superseded, have become obsolete, or were not designed to operate beyond a particular date or event do not fall within this assurance. The supply chain to Building & Property has also been assessed in order to protect the company and its clients from disruption caused by non-compliant third parties. Building & Property's clients have been advised of Year 2000 issues. Building & Property management has received briefings and instructions on Year 2000 issues. Year 2000 contingency plans have been put in place across the company.
